Rising Father

Fathers Are Essential

As a father, you better believe you are an essential member of the family. Not only are you nice to have around for the inevitable dad joke, you can literally make or break the future of your children and family.

Check out the shocking statistics below of fatherless families from the U.S. Census Bureau.

There is a crisis in America affecting millions of children and many more in future generations. The crisis is a father figure missing at home.

1 in 4 U.S. children, or 18.3 million children, live without a biological, step, or adoptive father, according to the 2020 Census.

This spells disaster more than any modern health crisis.

Here are more stats from the 2020 Census Bureau, compiling data from children 18 years and younger from 1960 till present:

Fatherless children are affected in the following ways:

  • 4x greater risk of poverty as an adult
  • 7x more likely for teen pregnancy
  • more likely to face abuse and neglect
  • more likely to have behavioral problems
  • 2x greater risk of infant mortality
  • More likely to abuse drugs and alcohol
  • More likely to go to prison
  • 2x more likely to suffer from obesity
  • More likely to commit crime
  • 2x more likely to drop out of high school
As scary as these statistics are, there is a growing movement of men trying their best to become the father of their families’ dreams. Thousands of men are demanding the most of themselves and changing what it means to be a father. Being a father isn’t a placeholder, it’s a life changer.

You can make an incredible difference in the character and the life of your kid. As you get up early in the morning and head off to work every day, your example is what they watch. Their eyes are always watching as you work hard to provide for them. Never doubt your worth as a father. Not only does your family need a great father, the world needs great fathers.
